Emergency Arts is a creative collective housed in the former Penny's department store in downtown Las Vegas.  After becoming the Fremont Medical Clinic for many years, the building was vacated in 2004 and sat empty for four years.  As the recession hit in 2008, Michael & Jennifer Cornthwaite were desperate to keep the momentum alive in Fremont East and re-energized the building with a combination of artists, creatives, and a local coffeehouse and record store as the anchor.  After 7 years, EA the neighborhood was back in full swing, and the building was repurposed by ownership.

Created in partnership with former Mayor Oscar B. Goodman and the Plaza Hotel, Oscar’s Steakhouse is the quintessential Las Vegas Steakhouse. Located inside the Plaza’s iconic dome, the award-winning restaurant’s opulent mood is matched by a robust menu featuring perfectly-aged steaks and a formidable drink menu of classics and Oscar-inspired originals. 

Carrying over Goodman’s reputation as the “Happiest Mayor in the Universe,” Oscar’s approach to food and a is the same as Goodman’s approach to life: eat, drink and have fun--or as Oscar himself would say, “Enjoy the beef, booze and broads!” 

Dynamic, historic and most of all fun, Oscar’s is the perfect setting for a wide range of special events, from private dining and cocktail parties to large events or banquets of up to 250.

Although the only board member that was never a property owner, our founder, Michael Cornthwaite was a part of Fremont East before it's inception.  He played a direct role in the conceptualization of the district along with the City of Las Vegas' "Office of Business Development".  In addition to building, owning, operating, and mentoring over 20 of the businesses that opened in the district, he had an indirect role in at least 30 others.  Without Michael, Tony Hsieh’s Downtown Project would have never happened.

Conceptualized with the help of the late chef Kerry Simon, and located near the entrance to the Downtown Container Park, Pork & Beans was created to be a mecca for local swine and legumes by FRG in 2012.  Although it was only 600 square feet including front and back of house, Pork & Beans was able to handle large volume and a range of age demographics with relatively little effort because of highly efficient design and broadly appealing menu.  The low-brow experience was fun, familiar and welcoming to any and all!
